How many different ways can you show a heart or how a heart beats? How would you describe what an infection is and what it does in ASL? Come learn how to incorporate use of space and more effective anatomical classifiers into your everyday work. Practice dropping English form (e.g., medical terminology) and visualizing how that concept would best be conveyed in ASL. This workshop will include lecture, large group discussions and small group activities. Whether you are a veteran medical interpreter, interested in working in the medical arena or looking for an opportunity to practice using space and classifiers in new and exciting ways, this workshop is for you!
